It’s been quite some time since Saratoga Springs has seen a distillery – since Prohibition, in fact. Now, a former bike factory in Saratoga has been turned into a distillery, and it’s open for you to check out.
Ryen Van Hall purchased the former site of the Serotta Bike Shop on Geyser Road in 2015 and turned it into a distillery for Upstate Distilling Company. The company began selling vodka in July, and the tasting room is now open. Van Hall reportedly received advice from other local craft distillers on how to get his business up and running.
Craft spirits, wines, and beers have really taken off in recent years in New York State. With the immense success of the industry, and with Saratoga being a community that cares about purchasing local, we bet Van Hall’s new distillery will be thriving in no time.
Stop on by the new distillery at 41 Geyser Road for tours and tasting of their first product, Blinders Vodka. Upstate Distilling Company is open Friday through Sunday, 12pm to 5pm.
